We were in need of some weed abatement in our hillside with plans to plant native drought tolerant shrub in the fall. After calling several goat grazing companies that wouldn’t talk to anyone with less than 10 acres, we found Party Goats LLC.

This wonderful company is spreading the goat love around Los Angeles, and our hillside benefited greatly from their service. The herd of sheep and goats spent a week at our place eating to their hearts content. So, rather than a weed wacker spreading weed seeds and spores all over, the herd turned it all into fertilizer for us and got into all the hard to reach steep spots. 

Party Goats is very much about getting people to enjoy the animals, and they encourage clients to spend as much time interacting with the herd as they want. Our near 3-year old daughter had a blast petting and getting nuzzled by the goats and sheep, and the experience was wonderful for our family.  From all the cars and walkers stopping to check them out, hopefully it was a good experience for the community too.

When the goats aren’t eating your problems, some are used in film and television, while other times the Party Goats folks offer other experience like goat yoga and baby goat sound baths. But for those of us in South Shores with weeds to clear, this was a great way to protect our property and prepare the land for planting.
