2026 2nd Quarter CyberWatch Crime Summary for South Shores

Hi folks,
 
With CyberWatch now in its 14th year in South Shores with 688 members, here’s the 2026 2nd Quarter Crime Summary for South Shores.  This period covers April 1 through June 30of this year.
 
As quarters go, crime in South Shores has been a bit quieter than usual.  It was certainly quieter than much of San Pedro and Rancho Palos Verdes—even on a per capita basis.  Let’s hope the trend continues!
 
So, here are the reported crimes for the last quarter:
 

Theft from Motor Vehicle

  • April 8 – 2200 block of W. 25th Street. 
  • June 8 – Mermaid Drive and W. 25th Street.

Vandalism

  • June 19 – 2000 block of W. Paseo del Mar. (Apartment building).

Simple Assault

  • April 12 – 1600 block of W. 25th Street. 
  • June 19 – 3400 block of Gurnard Avenue.

Fraud

  • April 7 – 2100 block of Grenadier Drive.
  • April 16 – 2800 bock of S. Anchovy Avenue.

Theft

  • April 7 – 2500 block of S. Moray Avenue
Let’s hope this crime lull in the 2nd quarter has more to do with the increasing number of CyberWatch members…than the bad guys taking a summer vacation!
