Greetings Neighbors:

Greetings Neighbors:

I apologize for not writing, sending and posting a “Presidents Corner” in almost two months.  Much of what needs to be said; has in fact, been written about, seen and heard on the many social media platforms and a plethora of emails, texts, phone calls and several meeting throughout San Pedro.  However, I will attempt to be as informative as possible while maintaining a demeanor that reflects facts, and consistent with our neighbor’s interest, concerns and passion.

LITTLE SISTERS OF THE POOR:

We are a very lucky “band of brothers and sisters” to live in San Pedro.  So many of you have come out in various ways to participate, assist and lead in this all-encompassing effort to keep this location as a “senior living” facility.  The number of people that deserve a “BIG THANK YOU” are too numerous to mention.   I surely would fail to mention someone.  We are ALL San Pedro residents UNITED if cause.   The following is my best effort to keep the following comments fact based, brief and to the point.

KEEP UP THE PRESSURE!!!

  • City Council unanimously passed Tim McOsker’s motion of 12/10/2025
  • San Pedro was represented at the meeting by (3) SSCA board members, Candidate for judge, land developer, resident student, current resident of Little Sisters location
  • There are two senior living companies “in play” for the Little Sisters facility
  • Still seeking Arch Diocese of LA for help
  • A “go fund me” account has been established. In addition, donations can be made directly to: SPNAF and mailed to SSCA P.O. Box 922, San Pedro, 90733
  • The SSCA will apply the $5,000 designated for the yearly social to legal fund
  • Petition count 4,000 digital, 600 wet
  • Keep letters, emails, phone calls to local, state and federal officials repeat & repeat
  • Picketing turn-out has ranged from 300 to 75
  • Meeting with prospective attorney within the next week
  • Constantly keeping press and media up-to date on efforts
  • “Teamwork makes the dream work” we are all in this together
  • IT AINT OVER TILL IT’S OVER!

The 2026 Membership continues to grow.  Present membership now sits just shy of 500.  The “block captain” concept has been tabled, in order that a more definitive process, responsibility, action plan and “test” can be developed.
