Community Alert: Update on Little Sisters of the Poor property
12/30/2025
Greetings,
It has recently been brought to the attention of the SSCA that there are new owners in the property formally operated by Little Sisters of the Poor on Western Ave. Neighbors have raised some concerns about the new tenants. The SSCA reached out to our local Councilman, Tim McOsker. Following is an update from him.
Note from Councilmember McOsker:
“I want to follow up on the message sent out to the members regarding the group of people who began moving into the former Little Sister of the Poor property over the past several weeks.
Our office learned about this use the same way the community did, when new people began moving in. At that point, I contacted the new ownership and other parties to determine what was happening at the property. Our office immediately investigated, toured the site, and told the ownership that this operation must stop as it currently exists.
There is no permit, security and oversight have been inadequate, and there was no outreach to the surrounding community. We will continue working on this issue and remain in close communication with the South Shores neighborhood as we move forward.”
Thank you to all of you for being great partners in looking out for the neighborhood’s wellbeing.”
Tim
The SSCA will continue to monitor this situation and share updates with you as they come along.
Respectfully yours,
SSCA Membership Committee
